We always escape on holiday for my birthday, and this year was no different.  I recently graduated with an MA in Museum Studies, and visiting the Prado was on my Museum Bucket List – so Madrid was chosen as a birthday present to myself!  

Barcelona – Oct 2006 & April 2011

I associate Barcelona with free-poured gin, tapas in the sun, buildings that look like they are melting, and pitchers of sangria that taste like juice.  And flamboyant handmade leather handbags on La Rambla.  It is all very vivid and vibrant in my memory.
